What is a bug out bag?
A bug out bag, also called a go bag, 72-hour kit or get home bag, is a single pre-packed bag you grab on the way out the door when staying put is not an option: wildfire, flood, hurricane or an evacuation order. It holds the food, water, shelter, first aid, fire and tools you need to be self-sufficient for roughly 72 hours.
Do your bug out bags come fully packed?
Yes. Every Tactically Prepped bug out bag arrives built, packed and ready to store by your door or in your vehicle. There is no assembly and nothing extra to buy to reach 72 hours of coverage.
What is the difference between the loadouts?
The Complete 72-Hour Bug Out Bag comes in several loadouts. Deluxe is the best starting point for a first kit and includes food. Elite is the most complete build, with a full food supply and an IFAK-level trauma kit. Lone Wolf is optimized for one person. The without-food variants are for preppers who already rotate their own food stores.
What does the kit actually cover?
Six categories: first aid, food and water, shelter, fire, light and navigation. Every item is selected because it works in a real emergency, not because it looks good on a spec sheet.
Does the kit include food and water?
Food-inclusive loadouts ship with long-shelf-life emergency food sized to the 72-hour window. Every kit includes water purification so you can make water from natural sources safe to drink. We recommend also storing drinking water at home alongside your bag.
How should I store my bug out bag?
Keep it somewhere cool, dry and reachable in under a minute: a closet near your exit or your vehicle. Check the contents once a year and rotate food and any medications by their printed dates.
Can I fly with my bug out bag?
Most of the kit can travel in checked luggage, but knives, multi-tools, fire starters and fuel are not allowed in carry-on bags. Check current TSA rules for each item before flying.
Do you sell gear individually?
Yes. Beyond complete kits we carry first aid and trauma gear, survival gear, water storage, tents, night vision and home prep equipment, all sold individually.
Why buy a pre-built kit instead of building my own?
Building your own bag takes research, time and dozens of separate orders, and it is easy to miss a category until you need it. Our kits cover all six categories out of the box and are packed from field-tested gear. You can still customize: add personal medications, documents and clothing once it arrives.
Ordering & Payment
What currency do you charge in?
We are a US company and all prices are charged in USD. The site can display prices in your local currency, but your card is charged in USD, so your bank's conversion rate may differ slightly from the displayed amount.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Contact us as soon as possible after ordering and we can cancel or change it before it ships. Once an order has shipped it can no longer be canceled, but the 30-day return policy applies.
Shipping & Delivery
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all US orders. No minimums and no codes needed.
How fast do orders ship?
Orders ship within 48 hours of purchase.
How long does delivery take?
Items stocked in the US typically arrive within 3 to 5 days of shipping. Some specialty items ship from partner warehouses and can take up to 14 days.
How do I track my order?
Your tracking number is emailed with your shipping notification. Tracking can take a short time to show movement after the label is created.
Do you ship internationally?
We are US based and primarily ship within the United States. For international availability, contact support@tacticallyprepped.com">support@tacticallyprepped.com before ordering.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
We have a 30-day return policy: you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. Items must be unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
How do I start a return?
Email support@tacticallyprepped.com">support@tacticallyprepped.com to request a return. Approved returns are sent to 4980 S Alma School Rd Ste A2-465, Chandler, AZ 85248. Items sent back without an approved request cannot be accepted.
Who pays for return shipping?
Customers cover return shipping on standard returns. If your item is defective, damaged or incorrect, contact us and we will make it right at no cost to you.
What items cannot be returned?
Final sale items, gift cards, perishable goods such as emergency food, custom or personalized products, and hazardous materials such as fuel cannot be returned. Contact us if you are unsure about a specific item.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return is received and approved, the refund is issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank may take additional time to post it. If more than 15 business days pass after approval, contact us.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
Inspect your order when it arrives and contact us immediately if anything is defective, damaged or not what you ordered. We will evaluate the issue and make it right.
