Automatic Chicken Coop Door – Solar Powered, 4 Modes, Anti-Pinch Safety, Color LCD & Remote
Never Forget to Close the Coop Again — It Closes Itself.
Every chicken keeper has had that moment: it's dark, you're in bed, and you suddenly wonder if you closed the coop. This solar-powered automatic chicken coop door eliminates that entirely. It opens at dawn, closes at dusk, runs off a solar-charged 2000mAh battery, and has a USB-C backup charge port for cloudy stretches. Your chickens get in and out on schedule. Predators stay out. You don't have to think about it.
4 Operating Modes — Pick What Fits Your Routine
Not every flock or schedule is the same. Four modes let you match the door to how you actually manage your birds:
- 🌅 Light Sensor Mode (L-L) — door opens at dawn, closes at dusk automatically based on ambient light. Zero setup after initial calibration
- ⏱️ Timer Mode (T-T) — set exact open and close times. Best for coops with consistent routines or in locations with extreme seasonal light variation
- 🌅⏱️ Light Open / Timer Close (L-T) — opens at dawn naturally, closes at a set time. Good for free-range flocks that need a fixed evening close
- ⏱️🌅 Timer Open / Light Close (T-L) — opens at a set morning time, closes at dusk. Useful for late risers who want birds out at a specific hour
Switch between modes directly on the color LCD panel or via the included remote control from up to 30–100 meters away without going to the coop.
Anti-Pinch Safety — Protects Chickens from Getting Caught
The door uses an adjustable anti-pinch sensor that detects resistance during closing. If a chicken is in the way, the door automatically reverses 3cm, pauses for 10 seconds, then attempts to close again. A continuous beep alert sounds if the door fails to close completely after multiple attempts, signaling that something needs attention. Some models also include an intrusion alarm that activates if the door is forced open — a flashing red light and alarm that deters predators and alerts you.
Solar + USB-C Dual Power — Runs in Any Conditions
The built-in 2000mAh rechargeable battery charges via the included solar panel during the day and stores power for operation at dawn and dusk. On extended cloudy days or in heavily shaded coops, the USB-C port lets you top up the battery manually without disrupting the door's programming. The system operates reliably from -15°F to 140°F (-26°C to 60°C) — snow, rain, heat, and humidity don't knock it offline.
Aluminum Construction — Predator-Resistant and Weather-Proof
The door panel and frame are aluminum alloy — no warping, no rusting, no UV degradation that degrades plastic doors after a season or two. The IP45-rated weatherproof housing protects the electronics from rain and dust. The roll-up door design clears the full opening when raised rather than swinging, which means no clearance issues on low-ceiling coops.
Color LCD Display — Set and Monitor Without Guessing
The color LCD panel shows current mode, timer settings, battery level, and light sensor readings in real time. Programming takes minutes — set the time, select the mode, done. No squinting at tiny indicators or decoding blinking lights. The display stays readable in daylight without backlight adjustment.

Who Uses This
- 🐔 Backyard chicken keepers — eliminate the daily open/close chore entirely
- 🏡 Homesteaders — protect flocks on larger properties where the coop may be far from the house
- ✈️ Travelers & weekend-away owners — birds are managed automatically while you're gone
- 🥬 Preppers with poultry — solar-powered, no grid dependency, reliable in off-grid setups
- 🦆 Duck, geese & small poultry keepers — works for most small poultry sizes
Pro tip: In light sensor mode, place the sensor where it gets direct dawn and dusk light but not artificial light from the house or street lamps — false readings from artificial light can cause the door to open or close at the wrong time. A clear, south-facing sensor position gives the most reliable automatic operation year-round.
